I had the pleasure of painting these two cuties for a custom order over the holidays. The colors are doing just a little funny in these photos, but they're close. Each 11x14 portrait was done with chalk pastels (which always ends up making me sneeze rainbows afterward...not on the artwork of course).
Here are some holiday smiles I've been working on recently. I can't post a lot of my current stuff, because it's secret Santa's elf type business. (But these two were given as early gifts, so we're in the clear).
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the sending and receiving of Christmas cards. Unfortunately I can't feasibly send a card to Everyone, so I'm posting it on here to wish all of you cheerful and happy holidays!
And look! My sweet friends have even posted some pictures of the cards I sent them this year! How fun is that?
The following are the first drafts of character sketches for the new project I'm working on with a local author. This will be the first of what we hope will be a fun new series for pre-K and elementary school audiences.
Andy & The Beats, an inspiring, fun, and truly heartfelt, all-original musical needs your help! It is a show designed by and for kids with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. It has been my pleasure to be involved in this project and have the opportunity to design the "face" of the show as a member of the creative team.
It take less than a minute, so please give the show your vote. It deserves to be seen by a much larger audience!
Thank you all!
If you'd like to learn more about the show, I'd be happy to answer any of your questions.
I work both from life as well as photographs. I only just started drawing caricatures within the last year or so, and it has been an absolute privilege to be invited to and work at numerous local events, festivals and even private parties. I always have a blast doing these and getting to know the people I'm drawing. (That being said, if you ever sit for me, I expect to be entertained, so please come with your best stories.)
Welcome to Kelsey C Roy Illustrations where fun stories, childhood dreams, and run-on sentences are always encouraged!
I'll be writing more later as well as posting a ton of photos (once I find them that is. They seem to have run off with my weekend work ethic. Don't give me that look; we both know you're only reading this to avoid doing your own work), so please check back in, in a few days to see more!
